Dr. Jeff Smith is an experienced scientist with expertise on wireless sensors and control systems. He currently is chief technology officer of Numerex, and has been president and CEO, served or serves on the board of directors of several prominent high tech companies. He is chairman of the M2M Standardization Task Force (MSTF) for the Global Standards Collaboration (GSC), a group of major standards development organizations centered on the International Telecommunication Union, a specialized agency of the United Nations; and chairman of the Telecommunications Industry Association's TR-50 Smart Device Communications Engineering Committee. He is a distinguished Alumnus and an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He serves on UTA's board of trustees and the advisory board of the College of Engineering as well as the alumni board of Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.
